The trains! The park is beautiful and if it is possible to say the tracks that split it make it even better rounds out the experience for me. I can only imagine what it was like during the era of steam. I'm sure the soot and smoke was terrible but the trains snaking their way through on a winter's day must have been quite a sight.

My family and I would visit the park and while the kids played on the swings, I would wait for the next train to enter the park. I would alert the kids so we could stand on the pedestrian bridge and watch the engines and cars go by.

Sadly that bridge has been closed for way too long. In dire need of repair it calls for future generations to race onto it and wait for the trains to roll beneath it. A thrill to any child, young and old alike.
